"Look," my husband IMed me, "it's hell!"

So I looked, and saw a page full of pictures of "the slimmest houses on earth." These are buildings approximately the thickness of a credit card, in which human beings live. Or slowly go mad, whichever comes first. Not the address-of-choice for a claustrophobe.

I dunno, though. For agorophobes, it could be heaven. Ah, to feel so snugly and closely contained by one's surroundings, so intimately embraced.

I do wonder how they would feel to live in, but my modernist heart loves the way the land is reflected in this kitchen:

So often houses are imposed on the land, it's delightful, really, to see the land conditions rising up through the house.
