My house has swallowed me.

Days go by when I think of nothing else. "We could hang coats by the door...I need a little decorative tray for his wallet when he comes home, something to 'anchor' it and make it seem like it belongs...oops, better sweep up over here...let's move the calabash to the chest and the little glass bowl of rocks to the mantel."

Besides these immediate concerns, I'm developing long-range plans. "Next year we'll paint the cabinets...the year after that, we'll get new flooring..."

Any day now, I'm sure things will settle down and I'll be back to near-daily blogging. But for now, the house is getting some long-overdue, much needed love and attention. I'll keep up as I can.
